The Techmire Zinc Castings Machines

The Techmire zinc die casting machine is a multiple-slide zinc die casting machine that is capable of producing small, complex and intricate zinc castings at minimum cost. Having the capacity to produce tiny and precision zinc die castings, tiny zinc parts, this makes Techmire zinc castings the global leader in the industry of designing and fabricating multiple-slide zinc die casting machines.

Techmire is one of the leaders in the metalworking industry today. It was founded in the year 1983 in Montreal, Canada. You will now find Techmire machines in about more than thirty countries all over the world. Techmire zinc casting machines are specifically designed for zinc. Techmire has two sets of machines. They are the NT series and the NTX series. The NT series machine uses the multiple-slide technology, being fully automatic, hot chamber and has high precision. The NXT series is an improvement of the NT series. It has the latest technology that can handle higher capacity and extreme pressures. End products of NXT series machines have better surface finish and greater part density. The NT series have three models. They are the 22 NT, the 44 NT and the 66 NT. These three machines differ in nominal die size and shot weight.

Techmire’s largest die casting machine is the 88 NTX. It has a dry cycle speed of 2,100 cycles per hour and it has a quick die-changing capability allowing change over of two-slide molds. This machine is designed for single-cavity production of large area or multiple-cavity production of small components. All NTX models offer improved functions for different ranges of products.

The Most Popular Zinc Alloy

Several metal alloys are being used in the manufacturing of parts using the die casting process. Among the very first metal alloys used in die casting of metal were tin and lead. However, several other metal alloys followed and came into use for die casting parts. Die casting zinc alloy #3 is one of the most popular zinc metal alloys. Zinc-based alloys are popular because they are among the easiest to die cast.

Die casting zinc alloy #3 and Die casting zinc alloy #5 have high ductility and excellent impact strength. This makes it possible to cast zinc alloys with thin walls. Zinc alloys also offer excellent surface smoothness that makes plating and painting easier. Any high quality zinc metal should be used in the formulation of alloys to ensure strength and dimensional stability of the alloy.

Zinc Die casting alloys involve two processes. The hot chamber method is the first method, which uses a pool of molten metal to harden the metal in the die and the cold chamber method which uses separate chambers to melt and hold melted metal before adding the zinc alloy and injecting them into the die casting die. The low melting point of zinc alloy gives it the flexibility to be used both in the hot chamber and the cold chamber die casting machines. This makes die casting zinc alloys among the most sale able in the market today, especially in the automotive industry.

Zinc alloy is also called commercially as Zamak alloy. Zamak is an acronym for zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper, the four alloys in the conventional zinc group. Zinc alloy die casting technology has revolutionized from manufacturing simple shapes to more complex ones.

Beautiful Zinc Die Casting

Die casting zinc beautiful. From forcing molten metal zinc under high pressure into mold cavities, products from and for zinc die casting are formed. Die casting zinc, as we know it, is one fine way to produce small to medium sized zinc parts that has good and intricate details, delicately formed surfaces, and that has consistency in dimensions making it as a very welcome addition in the production industry.

Now, some of you may wonder what materials are used in this very clever process. With die casting, raw materials and elements (or non-ferrous metals as they are properly called) like zinc, copper, aluminum, magnesium, lead, and tin based alloys are used. These non-ferrous metals, as their collective name suggests, contains no trace of iron. And although these are the materials that are commonly used, ferrous materials (or materials that has traces of iron) can also be used in this process.

And the process itself, you may ask? Well, die casting zinc begins with closing the mold after being sprayed with a lubricant. By spraying lubricant on the mold, the temperature of the die can easily be controlled and the removing the zinc casting later on will be much easier. After this first step, using a hot chamber zinc die casting machine, molten zinc metal that is under high pressure of around 10—175 MPa (1,500—25,000 psi) is shot into the die. This amount of pressure is kept once the die is filled and until it is totally solidified. Filling the die by using a high-pressure injection is done so that the whole cavity would be filled before zinc parts of the entire zinc casting hardens. Moreover, using a high-pressure injection helps makers avoid irregularities in form even if there are parts of the zinc casting that are not easy to fill due to its irregular shape.

And with a Hot Chamber Zinc process as long as this one, one can be sure that the results will be beautiful die casting zinc parts.

Zinc Die Casting Knobs and Accessories

Zinc Die Casting Knobs and Accessories. In the zinc die casting process, there are different steps that are applied in order for each metal to be durable and strong. First, raw metals are sprayed with a special type of lubricant so that they would not harden easily. The lubricant serves as an insulator of heat. It would also affect the removal in zinc die casting. Then, certain metals like aluminum or tin would be added to the zinc under high pressure. The metal cavity would then be left in high pressure until it has hardened and solidified. Finally, the manufacturers would remove any traces of scraps, brittle metals that might cause damage. With this process, zinc die casting knobs and accessories are made. The process ensures that any products made are stainless and that they are protected from any metal reactions.

Those metals that are left upon processing are either scraped or melted again. As they are melted, they are used in creating knobs and other accessories. That is why most knobs created using this process are very durable and strong. They can also withstand a high density of pressure so they would be safe from any breaking or tampering. One should consider zinc die parts because they are so strong and they can withstand rusting.

Zinc Die Casting Handles with Strength

Zinc Die Casting Handles with Strength. There are some handles that seem to lose their strength after a couple of years. These handles are often based on very weak metals and that is why they are often easily affected by erosion, wearing. Because of wearing, they often become brittle. This is due to the fact that there are small pores inside them. These small pores are the ones responsible for handles to become weak after heavy usage. Even in the presence of high pressure or heavy temperatures, they would become breakable. So how does one find some handles which are not easy to break? There are shops that would be able to provide you with zinc die cast handles.

These handles are so durable and extremely strong that even if they were handled to carry heavy loads, they would still be able to do their job. Try to use them in large doors or metal cabinets. They would last years and you do not need to replace them easily. The screws that are used in these handles are often based on the zinc die casting process, so they can withstand a large amount of pressure. If you want some handles that can carry a lot of weight, then those zinc die handles would be perfect for the job.
